    Margaret Wright is the Head of School at Manor Hall International School in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. Being an educator with over 25 years of teaching and leadership experience in public education, and serving as the Vice Principal at Manor Hall International School for 2019-2020, her passionate belief is that all children can learn. This belief has led to her dedication to the development of teacher practice and the enhancement of leadership skills.

    Margaret Wright has obtained her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from the College of St. Rose in New York, Master’s degree in Reading Education from Syracuse University in New York and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Administration from the State University of New York at Brockport.

  • My name is Dane Satchell and I am looking forward to serving Manor Hall as the Vice-Principal. The 2020/2021 school year will mark my 11th year in education and my 5th year working in the Middle East. I am excited for the opportunity to serve the MHIS community!

    I have a B.PHE from the University of Toronto (Canada), a B.Ed. from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, an M. Ed. in International Education Administration from Endicott College in Boston (USA), and have teaching certificates from Ontario and British Columbia (Canada).

    My career in education began in Canada, before taking me to South Korea for 6 years, and then landing in Saudi Arabia for 4 years. I spent much of my professional career building education programs, as well as working as an elementary classroom teacher in various American curriculum schools. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong desire to have a positive impact on the school community I serve which led me to be appointed to a number of leadership roles over the last 10 years.

    As the Vice-Principal, I will work diligently with our faculty and staff to carry out the vision and mission of MHIS. I am committed to working closely with our teachers, parents, and community members to ensure our students achieve their full potential and are prepared for the next chapter in their educational career. I endeavor to foster engaging, trusting, and encouraging relationships with our students that will have lasting positive impacts on their academic achievements.

  • My name is Mrs. Lilian and I serve Manor Hall as the Head of Pastoral Care and Events Coordinator. This is my second year in the UAE and I’m excited to be working with our students and their families! I have a degree in Psychology with several years of experience in International School Counseling.

    I provide counseling responsive services to our students across grade levels. My main goal? To work alongside teachers and parents to help students develop the social-emotional skills needed to be successful in school and life. Some of the services I provide to accomplish this goal are: classroom lessons, individual counseling, small group counseling, collaboration with teachers and staff, and consultation with parents. Teamwork is key to ensure we’re meeting our students’ needs.
    Additionally, I facilitate the planning of school-based events to enrich the educational and social-emotional experience of our students.

    As a member of the Manor Hall family, it is my purpose to ensure all students have access to a safe space where they can express themselves without fear of being judged, to learn how to accept themselves and others and to offer a positive mindset to a healthy and uplifting school community.

  • My name is John Schissler and I serve Manor Hall as the Dean of Students as well as the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator. Serving in this position grants me the opportunity to help students develop their whole selves as they work to become productive and well-adjusted individuals. My main objective is to create a safe and comfortable work environment for students so that they can more easily find their passion and purpose.

    Prior to working at Manor Hall International School, I taught ESOL and Sheltered World History courses for English Learners in Topeka, Kansas, USA. In addition to this, I have worked in a number of positions ranging from construction to customer service. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, with a specific focus on History, Government, and TESOL, from the University of Kansas.
